The Boat Ramp, damaged due to weather events, will undergo repairs and expansion begining May/ June 2012.

Jacksonville Recreation & Parks Department offers athletic programs, leagues, and camps for all ages throughout the year.

Jacksonville Recreation & Parks Department offers a variety of programs and classes for adults including, Group Travel, Zumba, Stroller Strides, Warner Fit, and much more.

Seniors Program
Adult citizens ages 50 and older may participate in a wide variety of programs, classes, activities, social events and trips. The Senior Citizen/Community Center is located in the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex at 100 Recreation Lane.

Parks and Shelters

Wooten Park Park

Features: Park features playground equipment, basketball courts and a medium-sized shelter surrounded by grills. Restroom are nearby. This shelter holds approximately 48 people. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

Richard Ray Park

1200 Commons Drive North, Jacksonville NC 28546

Features: Beautiful Park that contains winding trails and breathtaking scenery. Park also features a state-of-the-art playground with a synthetic rubber surface to help prevent injury. Park contains a shelter and gazebo, both available for rental. Restrooms located on site. This shelter holds approximately 50 people. River Walk Park

421 Court Street, Jacksonville NC 28540

Features: The Park and stage are located downtown near the waterfront. The area features a long garden area, streets perfect for vendors, and a stage for any type of public event. The stage holds approximately 54 people. **Please do not drive vehicles on the grass or paved areas at the park!** For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

Sherwood Forest Park

212 A Nottingham Rd, Jacksonville NC 28546

Features: Park is located in a secluded wooded area and features charcoal grills and playground equipment. This shelter holds approximately 10 people. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

Wilson Bay Gazebo and Park

5 West Bayshore Boulevard, Jacksonville NC 28540

Features: The park features a beautiful gazebo located over the water. The gazebo holds approximately 8 people. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

Features: This shelter is located right on the water has playground equipment, a picnic shelter, waterfront access/boardwalk and restrooms. This shelter holds approximately 60 people. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

This park is a wonderful place for having a picnic and has a beautiful boardwalk as well as a wonderful waterfront seat under a stunning Gazebo.

Branch Wood Park

305 Audubon Drive, Jacksonville NC 28546

Features: Park features a scenic nature trail and playground equipment. The park is not available for rental and is open for the public to use. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

Brook Valley Park

350 Estate Drive, Jacksonville NC 28540

Features: This park is located by the Main Branch of the Public Library and features playground equipment, charcoal grills, and 4 tennis courts. The shelter holds approximately 40 people. For additional information, please contact the Administrative office at 910 938-5312.

George Town Park

250 Georgetown Rd, Jacksonville NC 28540

Features: This shelter is surrounded by many amenities, such as the outdoor basketball courts, playground equipment, charcoal grills, restrooms,and a large multipurpose field that can be used for Football, Soccer, Softball and Baseball. Jacksonville Commons

Kerr Park

Features: This shelter is surrounded by many amenities, such as the outdoor basketball courts, playground equipment, tennis courts, charcoal grills, and a large Softball/Baseball field.
